So, what is huile palmique?
Huile palmique, also known as palm oil, is a vegetable oil derived from the fruit of the oil palm tree. It is commonly used in cooking and food processing due to its stability and high smoke point. The oil is versatile and can be found in a wide range of food products, from margarine and baked goods to snack foods and instant noodles. However, there is growing concern over the environmental impact of palm oil production, including deforestation and habitat destruction, as well as health concerns regarding its high saturated fat content.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
