So, what is hydrogènated fat?

Hydrogenated fat is a type of fat that is created by adding hydrogen to unsaturated fats, turning them into solid fats. This process makes the fat more stable and resistant to spoilage, which is why it is commonly used in processed foods, such as baked goods, snack foods, and margarine. However, hydrogenation also creates trans fats, which have been linked to increased risk of heart disease. As a result, many health experts recommend limiting consumption of hydrogenated fats and choosing alternatives, such as olive oil or coconut oil, when cooking at home.
