So, what is hydrolysert vegetabilsk protein?
Hydrolyzed vegetable protein is a flavor enhancer that is derived from plant sources such as soy, corn, and wheat. It is created by breaking down the proteins in these plants through a process called hydrolysis, which results in smaller peptide chains that add umami, or savory taste, to foods. This ingredient is often used in processed foods such as snacks, sauces, and soups to enhance their taste and aroma profile. Hydrolyzed vegetable protein is also a common ingredient in vegetarian and vegan products as a source of protein and flavor.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
