So, what is iodised salt?

Iodised salt is a type of table salt that is fortified with iodine, a vital nutrient that our bodies need to function properly. It is produced by adding potassium iodate or potassium iodide to the salt during the manufacturing process. Iodine is important for thyroid health, which regulates metabolism, growth, and development, and a deficiency can cause hypothyroidism, goiter, and other serious health issues. Iodised salt helps prevent these problems and is commonly used in many households worldwide. It has a slightly different taste than regular salt but can be used in the same way.
