So, what is kaliumjodat?

Kaliumjodat, also known as potassium iodate, is a food additive commonly used as a source of iodine. Iodine is an essential mineral that the human body needs to produce thyroid hormones. These hormones are responsible for regulating a variety of bodily functions, including metabolism, growth, and development. Kaliumjodat is often added to table salt, bread, and other baked goods to help prevent iodine deficiencies, which can lead to serious health problems. While kaliumjodat is generally considered safe when consumed in small amounts, excessive intake can have adverse effects on thyroid function.
