So, what is karnaubaviasz?
Carnauba wax, also known as karnaubaviasz, is a natural wax derived from the leaves of the carnauba palm tree, native to Brazil. With a melting point of 82–86 °C, it is harder than beeswax and can be used in a variety of applications, including cosmetics, food coatings, and industrial uses. It imparts a glossy finish and enhances the texture of products, making it an excellent choice for use in lip balms, chocolates, and other confectionery items. Carnauba wax is also vegan-friendly and hypoallergenic, making it an ideal ingredient for those with dietary restrictions or sensitive skin.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
