So, what is kerma?
Kerma is a traditional Middle Eastern dairy product, made by fermenting and straining heated whole milk until it thickens to a smooth, spreadable consistency. It has a slightly tangy, slightly sweet flavor with a creamy texture that can be compared to sour cream or Greek yogurt. Kerma is a versatile ingredient often used in both savory and sweet dishes, such as soups, stews, dips, cakes, and pastries. It adds a rich, velvety depth of flavor and a touch of tanginess to any dish. Kerma is also packed with probiotics and nutrients like calcium, magnesium, and vitamin B12, making it a healthy addition to any diet.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
