So, what is kruiden?
Kruiden is a Dutch word that translates to "herbs" in English, and it refers to a vast category of plant-derived seasonings used in cooking. These aromatic plants are typically dried or fresh leaves, flowers, stems, or roots that add flavor, aroma, and visual appeal to dishes. Common herbs include basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, parsley, cilantro, and mint, among many others. Kruiden can be used in various forms, including ground, chopped, or whole, depending on the recipe. These versatile ingredients can enhance the taste and health benefits of any meal, making them a staple in any kitchen.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
