So, what is uien?
Uien is the Dutch word for onions, a versatile and flavorful ingredient used in a variety of cuisines around the world. Onions come in different colors and sizes, from white, yellow, and red to small pearl onions. They have a pungent and slightly sweet taste when raw, which mellows and becomes sweeter when cooked. Onions are a staple in many dishes, from soups and stews to stir-fries and salads, and they also add depth and complexity to sauces and marinades. They are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, making them a nutritious addition to any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
