So, what is la gomme arabique?
La gomme arabique, also known as acacia gum, is a natural plant exudate obtained from the stem and branches of the Acacia tree species. It has been used for centuries in various applications, including food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. In the food industry, it is commonly used in soft drinks, candies, and baked goods to improve texture and shelf life. Additionally, recent research suggests that la gomme arabique may have potential health benefits, such as reducing inflammation and lowering cholesterol levels.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
