So, what is lactase enzyme?
Lactase enzyme is a protein that helps break down lactose, a sugar found in milk and dairy products, into simpler forms of sugar that are easily digestible by the body. It is commonly used as a dietary supplement for people who have lactose intolerance, a condition that results from the body's inability to produce enough lactase enzyme. Lactase enzyme is also used in the food industry to produce lactose-free products, such as milk, cheese, and yogurt. This natural enzyme can be derived from various sources, including yeast, bacteria, and fungi, and is considered safe for consumption.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
