So, what is lactic culture?
Lactic culture is a type of beneficial bacteria that is commonly used in the fermentation process of many foods, such as yogurt, cheese, sourdough bread, and sauerkraut. These cultures are responsible for the tangy and slightly sour taste of fermented foods. Lactic culture is composed of different strains of lactic acid bacteria, which convert lactose and other sugars into lactic acid, thus creating an acidic environment that helps preserve the food and prevent harmful bacteria from growing. Additionally, lactic culture is known to have several health benefits, including improved digestion and a boost to the immune system.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
