So, what is lactosucrose?
Lactosucrose, also known as 4G-β-D-galactosylsucrose, is a disaccharide composed of glucose and galactose linked to a fructose molecule. This naturally occurring sugar is produced by the enzymatic reaction of lactose and sucrose, resulting in a sweeter and more soluble compound than lactose alone. Lactosucrose has been used as a food ingredient in various applications, including as a sweetener and flavor enhancer in dairy products, confectioneries, and baked goods. Additionally, lactosucrose has been shown to have potential prebiotic effects, promoting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
