So, what is laktose?
Lactose is a naturally occurring sugar found in milk and dairy products. It consists of glucose and galactose molecules and is broken down by the enzyme lactase in the small intestine. For some people, particularly those with lactose intolerance, their bodies are unable to produce enough lactase to break down lactose properly, leading to symptoms such as bloating, gas, and diarrhea. Lactose is often used as an additive in processed foods, including bread, cereal, and other baked goods, and is also a common ingredient in infant formula.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
