So, what is leather?
Leather is a material that is obtained by tanning the hides or skins of animals, usually cows, pigs, or sheep. It is known for its durability, flexibility, and strength, making it a popular material for a wide range of products, including shoes, bags, belts, and jackets. Leather is also used in the culinary world to wrap or tie meat, as it is a natural material that is safe for food. However, due to the use of chemicals and the environmental impact of leather production, there has been a growing interest in sustainable alternatives to traditional leather.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
