So, what is lecitiny?
Lecitiny, also known as lecithins, are natural fatty substances found in animal and plant tissues. They are commonly extracted from soybeans, egg yolks, and sunflower seeds and are widely used as an emulsifying agent in the food industry. Lecitiny help to keep ingredients from separating and provide a smooth texture to many foods, including chocolate, salad dressings, and baked goods. Additionally, lecitiny may have potential health benefits, including improving cholesterol levels and aiding in brain function. While lecitiny are generally recognized as safe by regulatory agencies, those with soy or egg allergies should exercise caution when consuming products containing these ingredients.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
