So, what is mais jaune?
Mais jaune, also known as yellow corn, is a cereal grain that is widely used in cooking and as a staple food in many countries around the world. It is characterized by its bright yellow color, which comes from the carotenoids and xanthophylls present in its kernels. This versatile ingredient can be cooked in various ways, such as boiling, grilling, or roasting, and is often used to make cornmeal, tortillas, popcorn, and many other delicious dishes. In addition to being a tasty and filling food, yellow corn is also a good source of fiber, protein, and essential nutrients, such as vitamin B6, potassium, and folate.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
