So, what is maize flour?
Maize flour, also known as cornmeal, is a finely ground powder made from dried corn kernels. It is a staple ingredient in many cuisines around the world, including African, Mexican, and American. Maize flour comes in different textures, ranging from fine to coarse, and is commonly used to make a variety of dishes such as tortillas, cornbread, porridge, and fritters. It is naturally gluten-free and high in fiber, making it a nutritious alternative to wheat flour. Maize flour has a slightly sweet taste and a distinctive yellow color, adding a rich flavor and texture to many recipes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
