So, what is gram flour?
Gram flour, also known as besan, is a gluten-free flour made from dried chickpeas that have been ground into a fine, yellow-colored powder. It is a popular ingredient in Indian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisines, used in a variety of dishes such as pakoras, flatbreads, and savory pancakes. High in protein and fiber, gram flour is a healthy alternative to wheat flour and is particularly beneficial for those following a vegetarian or vegan diet. Its nutty and slightly bitter flavor adds depth to dishes and its versatility makes it a staple in many households.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
