So, what is mangetout?
Mangetout, also known as snap peas, are a type of legume that are harvested when the pods are still young and tender. The name "mangetout" comes from the French phrase "manger tout," which means "eat everything," reflecting the fact that the entire pod is edible. With a crisp and sweet flavor, mangetout is a popular ingredient in stir-fries, salads, and vegetable side dishes. They are also a good source of vitamins C and K, as well as fiber and protein. Mangetout can be enjoyed raw or cooked, making it a versatile addition to any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
