So, what is melanzane?
Melanzane, also known as eggplant or aubergine, is a versatile and nutrient-dense ingredient that is commonly used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. With its deep purple color and spongy texture, melanzane is a great source of fiber, potassium, and antioxidants. It has a mild, earthy flavor that can be enhanced with various cooking techniques, such as roasting, grilling, or sautéing. Melanzane can be used in a variety of dishes, including dips like baba ghanoush, stews like ratatouille, and even as a meat substitute in vegetarian dishes like eggplant parmesan.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
