So, what is methyl gluceth?
Methyl gluceth is a versatile ingredient commonly used in cosmetics, personal care products, and some food applications. It is produced by reacting glucose with methanol, resulting in a clear, colorless liquid with excellent solubility in water and many organic solvents. Methyl gluceth acts as a humectant, helping to retain moisture in the skin and hair. It also has emollient properties, making it an excellent choice for dry or damaged skin. Due to its mild nature, methyl gluceth is well-tolerated by most skin types and is often used in hypoallergenic formulations.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
