So, what is methyl myristate?
Methyl myristate is a colorless liquid ingredient commonly used in the food industry as a flavoring agent. It is a naturally occurring ester that is formed from the reaction of myristic acid and methanol. Methyl myristate has a characteristic fruity and nutty aroma, with a sweet taste profile that complements various food products. This ingredient is often used in the formulation of dairy products, baked goods, candies, and beverages. Due to its pleasant odor and flavor, methyl myristate is also used in the production of perfumes, soaps, and other personal care products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
