So, what is méthylparabène?
Méthylparabène, also known as methylparaben, is a common food preservative used to extend the shelf life of various products. This white, crystalline powder is a type of paraben, a group of compounds frequently employed in the food industry due to their potent antimicrobial properties. Méthylparabène can be found in a wide range of food items, such as baked goods, beverages, processed meats, and sauces, to name a few. While this ingredient has been approved for use by regulatory agencies, some studies have raised concerns about its potential impact on human health and the environment.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
