So, what is mountain sorrel?
Mountain sorrel is a perennial herbaceous plant that grows in high altitude areas, typically in rocky soils. The leaves of mountain sorrel are triangular-shaped and have a vibrant green color with red veins. They have a tangy, sour flavor due to the presence of oxalic acid. Mountain sorrel is commonly used in salads, soups, sauces, and as a garnish for its unique taste and attractive appearance. Besides being a delicious ingredient, it also contains vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iron, making it a healthy addition to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
