So, what is moutarde à l'ancienne?
Moutarde à l'ancienne, also known as whole grain mustard, is a French-style mustard made from brown or black mustard seeds that are coarsely ground and mixed with vinegar, salt, and sometimes other spices. Unlike traditional smooth mustards, Moutarde à l'ancienne retains the texture of the whole mustard seeds, giving it a unique crunchy texture and intense flavor. It's commonly used as a condiment for sandwiches, meats, and cheese plates, but can also be incorporated into salad dressings, marinades, and sauces. This artisanal mustard adds a sophisticated touch to any dish with its earthy and pungent taste.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
