So, what is nátrium-metabiszulfit?
Nátrium-metabiszulfit, also known as sodium metabisulfite, is a food ingredient commonly used as a preservative and antioxidant in various processed foods. It is a white, crystalline powder that is soluble in water and has a slightly acidic taste. Nátrium-metabiszulfit is often added to wines and beer as a sterilizing agent to prevent the growth of bacteria and other unwanted organisms. While generally considered safe for consumption, some individuals may experience adverse reactions such as allergic reactions or asthma attacks when exposed to this additive.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
