So, what is níspero?
Níspero, also known as the Spanish medlar, is a small, oval-shaped fruit with a golden-brown skin and a juicy, sweet pulp. Native to Asia and the Mediterranean, it is now widely grown in subtropical regions around the world. Níspero has a unique flavor profile that is often described as a combination of apricot, peach, and citrus, with a slightly gritty texture similar to a pear. This versatile fruit can be enjoyed fresh, dried, or cooked in a variety of sweet and savory dishes, and is a good source of vitamins A and C, potassium, and dietary fiber.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
