So, what is pektyny?

Pektyny, also known as pectins, are a type of soluble fiber found in the cell walls of many fruits and vegetables. These complex carbohydrates are commonly used in food production as a thickener, stabilizer, and gelling agent due to their ability to absorb water and form a gel-like substance. Pektyny are also used in the manufacturing of low-calorie and low-fat foods, as they can replace fats and sugars while still maintaining texture and mouthfeel. Additionally, research has shown that consuming foods high in pectins may have various health benefits, such as improving digestion, reducing cholesterol levels, and regulating blood sugar.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like pektyny?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
