So, what is nitrato potásico?
Nitrato potásico, also known as potassium nitrate or saltpeter, is a naturally occurring mineral salt that is commonly used in food preservation and as a fertilizer. This odorless and colorless compound is made up of potassium, nitrogen, and oxygen atoms and has a wide range of uses in various industries. In the food industry, nitrato potásico is often added to cured meats such as bacon, ham, and sausage, as it helps to prevent bacterial growth and preserve the food's color and flavor. In addition, it is also used as a key ingredient in some types of gunpowder and fireworks due to its ability to release oxygen when heated, which promotes combustion.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
