So, what is noix en coque?
Noix en coque is a French term that translates to "nut in shell." It refers to whole nuts that are still encased in their hard outer shell. These nuts are typically harvested from trees and are left in their natural state, without any processing or roasting. Some common types of nuts that are sold in their shells include walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, and pecans. Noix en coque can be used in a variety of recipes, such as homemade nut butter, trail mix, or as a snack on their own. They are also a popular ingredient in traditional holiday dishes, such as fruitcake and stuffing.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
