So, what is nucleic acid?
Nucleic acids are organic molecules that play a fundamental role in the storage and transmission of genetic information within living organisms. They are composed of nucleotides, which consist of a sugar, a phosphate group, and a nitrogenous base. There are two types of nucleic acids: deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA). DNA is responsible for carrying the genetic information that is passed down from one generation to the next, while RNA is involved in protein synthesis. Nucleic acids can be found in a variety of foods, including meats, fish, eggs, and beans, and are essential for the proper functioning of the body.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
