So, what is œufs d'élevage au sol?

"Œufs d'élevage au sol" refers to eggs that come from hens raised in indoor facilities, where they can move freely on the ground. These hens are not kept in cages and have access to nesting boxes, perches, and scratch areas. Unlike cage-free eggs, which may still come from hens confined indoors, "œufs d'élevage au sol" come from hens that can behave more naturally, foraging and socializing with other chickens. This type of egg production is considered more humane than conventional caged systems, but not as sustainable as free-range or pasture-raised methods.
