So, what is oleate?
Oleate is a type of fatty acid that is commonly found in various foods, including meat, dairy, and vegetable oils. Chemically, oleate is an anion that forms salts and esters with various cations, such as sodium and glycerol. Oleate is a mono-unsaturated fatty acid that is considered healthy in moderate amounts. It has been shown to reduce LDL cholesterol and lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, oleate has emollient properties and is often used in cosmetics and skincare products to moisturize and protect the skin.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
