So, what is palm-oil?
Palm oil is a type of vegetable oil derived from the fruit of the oil palm tree, native to West and Central Africa but now widely cultivated in tropical regions. It is used extensively in the food industry as a cooking oil, as well as in the production of processed foods, such as margarine and baked goods. Palm oil is also commonly used in the production of soaps, shampoos, and cosmetics. However, there is growing concern about the environmental impact of palm oil cultivation, as it has been linked to deforestation, habitat destruction, and the loss of biodiversity.
