So, what is palm oil
Palm oil is a vegetable oil derived from the fruit of oil palm trees. It is commonly used in the food industry as an ingredient in various processed foods, such as margarine, baked goods, and snack foods. Due to its semi-solid consistency at room temperature, palm oil is also used in the production of many personal care and cosmetic products. However, concerns have been raised over the environmental impact of palm oil production, including deforestation and habitat destruction for wildlife such as orangutans. Sustainable palm oil production methods have been developed to address these issues.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
