So, what is palmkernfett?
Palmkernfett, also known as palm kernel fat or oil, is a vegetable fat derived from the kernels of the palm fruit. It is solid at room temperature and has a white to yellowish color. Palmkernfett has a high saturated fat content, making it a popular ingredient in baked goods, confectionery, and other processed foods. Its neutral taste and smooth texture make it a versatile ingredient for cooking and frying. However, there are concerns about the environmental impact of palm oil production, and the sustainability of palmkernfett is an ongoing issue.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
