So, what is panais¹?
Parsnips, or "panais" in French, are a root vegetable with a sweet and nutty flavor. They are related to carrots and parsley and have a creamy-white, tapered shape. Parsnips are a good source of fiber, vitamin C, and potassium, and are low in calories. They are commonly used in soups, stews, roasted dishes, and mashed potatoes. When roasted, parsnips become caramelized and slightly crispy, making them a delicious addition to any meal. With their unique flavor profile and versatile cooking options, parsnips are a wonderful ingredient to incorporate into your culinary repertoire.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
