So, what is pectines de fruit?
Pectines de fruit, or fruit pectin, is a natural substance found in the cell walls of various fruits, including apples, berries, and citrus fruits. This soluble fiber is commonly used as a gelling agent in food processing, particularly in the production of jams, jellies, and fruit preserves. Pectin is also used in the production of low-sugar and sugar-free foods, as it can thicken and stabilize without the need for added sugar. In addition to its culinary uses, pectin has also been studied for its potential health benefits, including lowering cholesterol and promoting digestive health.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
