So, what is pepinillo?
Pepinillo is a Spanish word for a type of pickle made from small cucumbers, also known as gherkins. These little pickles are typically marinated in vinegar or brine along with spices like mustard seeds, garlic, and dill. They have a crisp texture and a tangy, slightly sweet flavor that is often used to add a burst of acidity to dishes like sandwiches, salads, and charcuterie boards. Pepinillos are a popular ingredient in Spanish and Latin American cuisine and are a staple in tapas bars and street food stalls. They're low in calories and high in fiber, making them a healthy snack option.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
