So, what is phosphate sodium?
Sodium phosphate is a food ingredient commonly used as a food additive to improve the texture, moisture retention, and flavor of processed foods. It is also used as an emulsifier, pH buffer, and thickening agent in a variety of food products. Sodium phosphate can be found in a variety of processed foods, including cheese, baked goods, meat products, and canned seafood. It is generally considered safe for consumption in small quantities, but excessive consumption may cause adverse health effects such as diarrhea and electrolyte imbalances.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
