So, what is phospholipide?

Phospholipids are essential components of cell membranes that play a vital role in various biological processes. These complex molecules consist of a hydrophilic head and hydrophobic tail, making them amphipathic and capable of forming lipid bilayers. They are crucial for maintaining the integrity of cell membranes and facilitating the transport of lipids and proteins in and out of cells. Phospholipids also serve as signaling molecules, playing a role in inflammation, blood clotting, and other physiological processes. Common sources of dietary phospholipids include egg yolks, soybeans, and organ meats. Research has also suggested potential health benefits, such as improving cognitive function and reducing inflammation.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like phospholipide?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
