So, what is pike?
Pike is a freshwater fish that is native to Europe, Asia, and North America. With its long, sleek body and sharp-toothed mouth, the pike is a predator that feeds on smaller fish and aquatic invertebrates. This prized game fish has a firm, white flesh with a mild flavor that is often compared to that of cod or haddock. Pike is a versatile ingredient that can be baked, grilled, fried, or poached, and is often used in traditional dishes such as the French quenelles de brochet and the Finnish kalakukko. Pike is also a good source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
