So, what is poire?
Poire is the French word for pear, a sweet and juicy fruit that belongs to the rose family. Pears come in different colors, shapes, and sizes, ranging from yellow-green to red-brown, and from round to pear-shaped. They have a tender flesh with a grainy texture and a mild, delicate flavor that can vary from slightly tart to very sweet. Pears are a good source of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, and are often used in desserts, jams, and chutneys. They can also be enjoyed raw, baked, poached, or grilled, and pair well with cheese, nuts, and spices.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
