So, what is pommes de?
Pommes de, or "apples of" in English, are a popular ingredient in many dishes, particularly in French cuisine. These small, tart apples are often used for making apple sauce, apple butter, or as a complement to savory dishes such as roasted pork or duck. Their crisp texture and tangy flavor make them a popular choice for baking, as well. Pommes de are typically harvested in the fall and can be found in many local farmers' markets and specialty grocery stores. Whether enjoyed raw, cooked, or baked, pommes de add a unique and delicious touch to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
