So, what is proteinase?
Proteinase is an enzyme that breaks down proteins into smaller peptides or amino acids. It plays a critical role in various biological processes, including digestion, blood clotting, and immune response. Proteinases are widely used in the food industry to enhance the texture and flavor of meat products, as well as to produce cheese and other dairy products. They are also used in the pharmaceutical industry for the development of drugs that target specific proteins in the body. Proteinase is available in various forms, including animal-derived and microbial-derived, and is used in a range of applications, from food processing to scientific research.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
