So, what is pyrophosphate d'a?
Pyrophosphate d'a, also known as sodium acid pyrophosphate, is a food additive commonly used as a leavening agent in baked goods. It is a white, odorless powder with a slightly acidic taste and is soluble in water. Pyrophosphate d'a works by releasing carbon dioxide when mixed with an alkali, such as baking soda, creating bubbles that help dough or batter rise. It is also used as a sequestrant to prevent discoloration in processed foods and as a stabilizer in dairy products. Pyrophosphate d'a is generally recognized as safe by the FDA and is widely used in the food industry.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
