So, what is quaternium?
Quaternium is a versatile ingredient commonly used in personal care products such as shampoos, conditioners, and hair styling products. It serves as a conditioning agent that helps improve the texture and manageability of hair by reducing friction and static electricity. Quaternium also has antimicrobial properties that make it effective in preserving the quality of cosmetic products. This ingredient is derived from a type of ammonium compound that undergoes a chemical process called quaternization, resulting in a positively charged molecule that can easily bond with hair and skin. Due to its effectiveness and safety, quaternium is widely used in the cosmetics industry.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
