So, what is reticulin?
Reticulin is a fibrous protein that provides structure and support to cells and tissues in the body. It is found in various organs, such as the liver, spleen, and lymph nodes, and is involved in processes such as cell division and growth. In the food industry, reticulin is sometimes used as a binding agent and stabilizer in processed meats, such as sausages and hot dogs. However, it is important to note that some individuals may have an allergy or sensitivity to reticulin and should avoid consuming products that contain it.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
