So, what is riso arborio?

Riso Arborio is a premium Italian short-grain rice with plump, round kernels that are pearly white in color. This specialty rice variety is named after the town of Arborio in the Po Valley near Milan, where it is traditionally grown. Riso Arborio is highly prized for its starchy texture and ability to absorb flavors and liquids without losing its firmness or shape. It is most commonly used in risottos, but can also be used in other dishes such as rice pudding, soups, and casseroles. Its unique characteristics make it a versatile ingredient that adds depth and richness to any recipe.
